Golden Globe nominee, Patrick Swayze has succumbed to pancreatic cancer at age 57. Swayze shot to stardom as a dance instructor in the 1987 surprise hit movie Dirty Dancing, and his song “She’s Like the Wind” becoming a Top Ten smash hit. Swayze then reignited his fame in 1990 starring opposite Demi Moore in Ghost. He made his West End theatre debut in Guys and Dolls and then moved to TV drama. Diagnosed with the cancer in 2008, he was still able to complete filming on what was to be his last show, The Beast
Swayze had been married to his teenage sweetheart Lisa Niemi since 1975 until his death.
