Natalie was taking part in a motorcycle memorial rally for Donald Anderson, her brother-in-law who had tragically died in an air accident with his father. She was riding pillion passenger on her husband's motorcycle when it crashed at Lake Hawea during the rally to the West Coast.

  • It's taken a while

It was one of the saddest pleasures of my life to get to Nat's funeral.
Strangely enough, my memories of Nat weren't of pink and of the amount of people she knew.
No, the memories I have of Nat are of her crazy driving in that wee brown escort, the way she just laughed when the lights in my cortina just died late on a frosty sunday night 20k's from Lawrence. We travelled many miles visiting Muzz and my various girlfriends, and I used to dread the times it was her turn to take her car. Honestly, her driving was so bad back then I wrote a song about it.
My memories are of getting told off for leaving crumbs on the bench, those awesome Christmas letters, lengthy annual catchup calls and many laughs. I remember her inspirational trust and love for Muzz, and recall thinking 'gee, if only I could end up as happy as that' many many times.
I remember how Muzz used to tease Nat incessantly, and how only sometimes she'd get the joke, which only served to make us all love her more.
When I got back from the funeral, I tried to rack my mind for 'pink' memories of Nat, but couldn't. I felt a bit odd about that as I drove, then turned down a street near home and it was ALIVE with the most amazing pink blossoms you've ever seen!
Thank you Nat, now I have a pink memory like everyone else.
She made me feel unique, and us all uniquely good about ourselves.
We were lucky to have her as long as we did.
The year of firsts will pass soon enough, Muzz.
    We'll miss her forever.

  • I've remembered

Dear Nat,it's your 43rd birthday today, Christmas Day. I hope that where ever you are you are happy and looking down on your family and friends who miss you tremendously.
Also, thinking of Muzz, Ashleigh and Matt today as they have Christmas Day without their much loved wife and mother.

    With love,

  • an awesome lady

Although we didn't know Natalie that well, what we did know was super! She dealt with our insurance and would ring or see us and always be so cheerful and friendly as so many have stated - she was really a friend to all and made everyone feel special by being a very special person herself!
She will be missed around our small town but never ever forgotten - she truely was one in a million!

  • Beautiful lady

I would see Natalie most days when I worked in the florist below Commercial and Rural, there realy wasnt a day Natalie didnt swing in and say hello, or on her way past give a big cheerful wave and smile. She was truely a breath of fresh air!!! Even on the most bleek day, she would always sparkle all the way down the street!
She would always stop you in the street for a chat, haha..... it was never good bumping into Nat when you were in a hurry!!
To all of the Anderson family, you were truely blessed with such an amazing one in a million lady, I think of her of often and can only imagine she sparkles wherever she is now, she will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

  • Wonderful memories

    Dear Muzz,Ashleigh & Matt

SO very sorry we couldn't make it to Nat's funeral recently. I have such special memories of her as, of course, I lived with you guys briefly in 1995. My memories of her back then were "perfect". Perfect wife & mother to two tremendous wee kids, always "perfect" in how she was dressed,"perfect" kind and warm to her friends, but boy, how she could talk!!I have thought of her a lot over the years and my lasting memory of her will be her winning smile & infectious laugh. I'm sure Donald & Grahame are looking after her well in heaven. Take care of each other and please take heart that she was loved by so many people who will miss her and think of her often.

  • Dear Murray, Ashleigh and Matt,
I thought Natalie was just so lovely. I didn't know her very well, but she always made me feel like we were great friends. I wish I could've had one more Hello from her, just because she was so nice. I will always think of her in springtime - a lovely, pretty, pink time of year. I met her when I was working at The Terrace Store in High School and I just loved her purple perfect nail polish and of course she was so kind - a true princess.

    Natalie you are gorgeous,
    Nat you make me smile,
You used to come by on your walks, stop and chat for a while.
I feel so proud that I can say that I got to be around,
The lady that stands out from the rest of the entire town,
I say this in a great way not bad,
which is like everything you said,
    We love you Nat,
    We all do!
can i ask just one last thing of you,
    please,
    Rest your heart,
    and rest your mind,
    We love you dearly,
    Your one of a kind!
