John tragically died in the devastating Christchurch Earthquake. He was a student at the Kings College language school and had only arrive in New Zealand from the Phillipines two days earlier. He was presumed to have been in the CTV building when the 6.4 quake hit the city and is one of scores of people believed to have been trapped when it collapsed and caught fire.
