Tikitere (13) tragically drowned while swimming in the Whakatane River with his friends. He has been with friends when he jumped off the Landing Rd bridge and disappeared. It is thought he may of hit his head on the way down. His body was recovered the day after he went missing.
Known as a talented sportsman, performer and all-round nice guy, he was looking forward to the new year and his first year at high school in 2014.
