Seventeen year-old Elliot slipped on the bathroom floor and fatally knocked his head on the shower door. The freak accident happened during a party and despite the desperate attempts of his friends to revive him he died. Elliot was a keen rugby player for his school, Western Springs College in Auckland, and was also in the sports academy and had recently obtained his diving certificate. He was due to turn 18 the following month.
