26 year-old competitive kayaker and teacher, Louise, tragically died on the Kaituna River near Rotorua. She had been living in Rotorua and teaching at Western Heights High School.
Described as a committed sportswoman, Louise had competed at an international level in white water kayaking having won the 2015 Kaituna and Wairoa extreme kayaking women’s section. She has also gained second place in the 2015 Citreon race in Otago. She had only just started her secondary school teaching career .
