Dion (16) tragically died of meningococcal disease after being airlifted to hospital from the Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp while on a St John run youth camp. Dion was a student at Kerikeri High School and active in the Kerikeri Scout group where he was an assistant patrol leader, and he was also a St John youth cadet.
