Zakir (29) tragically deid in a plane crash in the Kaimanawa Ranges. He, and work colleague Peter Callagher (27), were flying a DA42 twin engine plane from Palmerston North to Auckland's Ardmore Airport and both perished in the crash. The two men worked at the Ardmore Flying School where Zak will be remembered as a perfectionist, an empathetic listener who many approaced for guidance and advice, and an amazing and reliable friend.
