William Roberts Robin Archer

Former All Black first five-eighth "All Black No.563" Robin (87) will be forever remembered for leading Southland to its 1959 Ranfurly Shield victory over Taranaki, and playing 13 game (including four tests) for the All Blacks over the 1955 to 1967 period. After his rugby career he took on the family business Archer Building Contractors Ltd. Robin was born and raisied in Gore hailing from a sporting family, his bother Watson (Wattie) and sister Lynley McMeekan were also prominient sports people, and he and his wife moved ot Dunedin and finally Auckland were he passed away.
He is survived by his wife and three children and seven grandchildren.
