Eric (87) was a high profile war veteran who, in 2009, was viciously attacked outside his RSA club and recieved beating which broke his jaw in two places, The 19 year old attacker was sentenced to nearly nine years in prison and dubbed as a coward by the Judge. The Judge stated that Eric had risked his own life to protect him and the rest of the country in World War II.
