Sam (16) was playing an underwater game with friends to see how long they could hold their breaths for and the other kids thought he was just playing around when he failed to resurface. He had been revived at the scene but was on life support in Nelson Hospital for nearly a week before he died. The autopsy showed the cause of death was drowning. Sam was an only child.
