Vietnam veteran, John (75), was exposed to Agent Orange in the1950-60's and is credited with gaining official recognition of the devastatin effects of the chemical on soldiers. Agent Orange was used widely during the Vietnam War to kill plants which hid the enemy but has since been linked to cancer and other birth defects. John received a Military Cross for bravery during the Malaysian Indonesian Confrontation in 1965 and was made the 'Anzac of the Year' in 2010. He is survived by his wife and three children.
