Robert (49) was diving for mussels when his hair became tangled in kelp and he tragically drowned. He was with a group of about 20 friends and family members were having an end-of-year celebration on a boat off Godley Head in Lyttelton Harbour when he decided he would dive for mussels. He failed to tie back his long hair and was found soon after floating in kelp.
