Nineteen year old Jess was a fearless lifesaver who had been a member of the Piha Surf Lifesavibg Club. She was known to throw herself selflessly into any rescue. In 2009, while on a trip to Los Angeles, she was involved in saving 12 people at Huntington Beach. She died in her sleep while on a trip in France.
