Two-year-old Samuel was invoved in a head-on crash in Waikato and had stopped breathing after the collision. After a Taupo man cut him from the wreckage an off-duty accident and emergency nurse managed to resuscitate him, and he was flown to Auckland's Starship Hospital, where he died several days later. Four others were also seriously injured in the crash.
