Mere (19) and her brother Te Rangi Pritchard-Blunt (16) tragically died when the car they were in collided with a freight train, at the interesection at Paiko Rd near Morrinsville. A manualy operated stop-go was operating on the stretch of road leading up to the crossing which was in the process of being upgraded with barrier arms which were expedcted to be operational in 2020. Mere was a former student at Hamilton's HIllcrest School. RIP Mere.
