Promising young Waikato golfer, Shayna (18), was involved in a car crash on State Highway 23 east of Whatawhata. The tragedy happened after she and friends had spent the day baking surprise Valentines Day treats for a friend in Raglan. She was a passenger in the car and died in hospital four days later. The driver remains in ciritical condition.
