Tama will be forever remembered for compsiing one of the most memorable pieces of New Zealand music - the theme for the 1994 Once Were Wariors movie. He was a member of the the reggae band Herbs for more than 20 years. His list of musci accomplishments is long, he was inducted to the NZ MUsic Hall of Fame in 2012, and he was known as the "speed king of NZ guitar".
