Rashleigh (85) was the former editor of the Taranaki News and Taranaki Herald newspapers having worked is way up from a cadet reporter. He joined the Taranaki Herald in 1944 and in 1965 he became the editor. He was also a JP, member of the West End Bowls Club and patron of the amputee society, having helped establish the Barrett Homes Trust. He is survived by his wife and five children.
