Julian's motorbike crashed into the rear end of a tractor when he was on his way to Waitara to go fishing with a friend. His 1200cc Triumph motorcycle hit the rear of a tractor which had an cultivator on the back, the tractor, which had crossed double yellow lines, may have been trying to turn into a driveway on the opposite side of the road. The incident happened after coming over the brow of Big Jim's Hill. Julian is survived by his partner and 24 year old daughter.
