Allan (83) was a much-loved South Canterbury businessman who became embroiled in a serious fraud office investigation after the collapse of South Canterbury Finance, once NZ's largest finance company, and a business he developed and continued to work in. He was involved in a fatal head-on crash, which also seriously injured his wife Jean (82), and died on his way to hospital.
