5-year-old Leon sadly died in Christchurch Hospital after recieving a serious head injury. Described as a "beautiful, happy-spirited kid" Leon had walked home from school a few days earlier but was taken to hospital shortly afterwards, While he was autistic and had only recently started to talk and read, he was enrolled at Northcote School, close to his Papanui home.
