Arrowtown teenager and talented musician, Jessica (16), was the first person to die on New Zealand roads in 2010. A head-on collision with a Mercedes near Arthurs Point on New Year's Day claimed her life and seriously injured two other teenagers in the vehicle she was a passenger in. Jessica was well regarded as a talented songwriter and performer, having performed at the New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards in Gore with a school friend, as well as at the first Christmas Spectacular in 2007.
