Longtime US harness racing publicist Joe (59) was nominated for the Communicators' Corner of the Hall of Fame a month before his death. His career began following an award-winning stint as a sportswriter in upstate New York. He went on to become the communications director at Pompano Park, Pocono Downs and Foxboro Raceway. In 1999 he became the general manager of Plainridge Racecourse. He was past president and chairman of the U.S. Harness Writers Association and a past president of the North American Harness Publicists Association.
