Mike (71) was a former Labour prime minister, a role he attained at the age of 41 and was NZ's youngest politician at 23 (1972 - representing Mt Eden electorate). He will be forvever remembered for his huge intellect, heart and passion. He battled for the underdog throughout his life and had a strong sense of social justice. He receieved the Commemoration Medal (1999) and Order of New Zealand (1999) and . He is survivied by his wife, RIP Mike.
