John's body was found 30 years after he went missing following a short walk in March 1986.
It was February 2015 when a member of the public alerted police after seeing human remains in a bush covered gully near Captain Edward Daniel Drive in Ngaio. John was 76 years-old at the time and, although fit and healthy, he was known to suffer from mental confusion at times, The cause of his death remains unknown, although police said there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.
