NZ President of the World Croquet Foundation Charles (56) was murdered in Thailand on his way home from a world croquet tournament in the UK. His body was found in his hotel room on Jomtien, Pattaya, after he failed to turn up for breakfast. He was keenly involved in his community and was a JP, QSM recipient, played the organ at St Canice's Church in Westport, and was also a volunteer helper at the O'Conor Memorial Rest Home.
